I'm a month into my 3 words for 2012. Most of the creating I've been doing has been in the kitchen. But I've also done some other stuff, like making these pillows out of some fabric scraps I got from my mom years ago:

Besides making the office couch a little more comfortable and colorful, there's probably no business value to these pillows, but it was fun to do make something pretty. That's enough. Too often we short-change creative non-work pursuits like this precisely because they don't have a direct line to revenue. And I think that's a mistake. Because being creative is a key to innovation. And we need more of that these days, not less.

So, what are you going to do that's a little creative today?

All this pillow talk got me thinking of Monty Python and the soft cushions!
