We had an incredible day yesterday in Detroit. I got to do a 30-minute segment on WCHB-AM 1200 with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Angelo Henderson, who is a trip and a half. And we met more fantastic folks we know we’ll keep up with going forward.

There are so many excited, motivated people in the Motor City. Yes, there is evidence of economic devastation all over the place. The jack-o-lantern effect is in full swing, and there are a lot lot lot of people out of work. But, honest to God, the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in SE Michigan. A good number of people are focused on the future and they've got a deep desire to make it work. It’s like Randal Charlton, executive director of local biz incubator TechTown, said: "We're gonna drive this city in a new direction -- a better direction -- and show the rest of America."

We believe it. Don’t turn the lights out on Detroit just yet, y’all. Things are happening here.
