If you want your writing to be more powerful, remember the sage advice Yoda gave Luke: "There is no try".
Conditional and ability language weakens your writing. It makes conditions. It stays one step short from instilling hope, belief and confidence--in your audience, sure, but also in yourself. It's a big sign that your self-assurance is lacking. And it's hard to get people to buy-in, trust or follow someone who's not confident.
Your task: Take the try out of your writing (and other qualifying lingo like could, should, might and may while you're at it). "Do or not do," said the little guy. "There is no try."
