So we're a week into the final quarter of the year. How are you doing on your goals?
I'm doing pretty well on most of mine, except connecting. I've been going to more events and meeting loads of people, but that really wasn't the goal. At the start of the year, I'd aimed to reconnect with someone I'd been out of touch with each week. I definitely haven't done that since the spring. Guess I know what I'll be focusing on in Q4. Luckily, I'm doing a little better on identifying partners. In fact, this week I'm meeting with two of them to hatch more schemes.
I've definitely used this blog as "pre-writing" for bigger things like white papers, articles and presentations. This has really paid off in terms of "product development", and I'm going to keep at it through the end of the year. I think I've done OK using other opportunities to leverage my skills, but not as well as I could have.
Clearly, this has been the big win for me. Big Project Friday has been a boon for me. A weekly day of focus has enabled me to build out a new part of the business and start on another, create some really good presentations, develop a few new biz dev materials and follow-up on those pesky-but-important loose ends.
As we head into the final period of 2011, I'm going to step up my connecting and see if I can find an opportunity or two to leverage tools better.
How 'bout you? Anything I can do to help you reach your goals by year-end?
