Yesterday, I posted about sticking to our knitting amid unprecedented distractions (Staying focused). A few hours later, I hit the gym and whipped out the latest Harvard Business Review Magazine only to find a story called "The coherence premium". It's a much more scientific look (with case studies!) at the value and bottom line impact of putting your energies into what you do well and letting someone else have the rest. It's a "premium" article, so access is limited, but you can get a lot from what they do offer for free via this link. I think it's worth paying for the one-time download, or hoofing it to your nearest public or university library to read it in print.
